An O' Guage MTH model of an early 1900's era standard American city streetcar. Chicagoland Hobby. 6017 Northwest Highway. Chicago Illinois. Jan 2010.
I took this photo during a January 2010 lunchtime visit to one of My favorite hobby stores, Chicagoland Hobby at 6017 Northwest Highway.
Although I do not model in O'Scale Myself...I have always enjoyed seeing working scale models of historic railroad equipment in any size basiclly.
This model shown here, is a somewhat generic representation of an early 1900's era double ended standard electric streetcar used in many citties throughout North America. The car shown here, is painted in the colors and markings of the Chicago Surface Lines.
The Chicgo Surface Lines was formed in 1914 through the Public ownership and amalgamation of several streetcar operating franchise companys in Chicago. The CSL was in operation from 1914 until the Chicago Transit Authority took over in 1947.
Chicago's last streetcar service ended in 1958.
