Petticoat Junction Intro

Being a young and upcoming railfan growing up in Chicago during the 1960's and 70's era, I used to love watching the old 1960's era CBS Television show known as Petticoat Junction.

This program aired on CBS from 1962 until 1970.

The steam locomotive used on the show, wich was greatly cosmetically backdated for use in several Western Movies, was none other than Sierra Railway locomotive # 3, built by the Rogers Locomotive Works of Patterson New Jersey in 1891.

This locomotive operates today, at the Railtown 1897 tourist railroad in Jamestown California USA.
