I took this photo from the south parking lot at the Kiddieland Amusement Park in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois. The immediate summer season has ended, and the daylight hours are now officially becoming shorter, as a weekend group of visiting families board the Kiddieland limited 1950's era streamliner passenger train for a nocturnal ride around the perimeter of the amusement park.The train is painted in the orange, red and black color scheme used during the 1940's and 50's on the Southern Pacific passenger trains on the west coast. This color schemes was called the "Daylight" color scheme, and was used primarilly on the Southern Pacific's mainline limiteds.
