Northbound Conrail caboose hop at Brighton Junction. Chicago Illinois USA. January 1988.
Hi friends!
welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page from the city of Chicago Illinois.
Today, I thought I would do something a little different and post a special photo feature on railroad cabooses.
I took this photo one late afternoon in January of 1988 at Chicago's Brighton Junction near South Archer and western Avenues. Seen here in very bright Winter sunshine on a dry but bitterly cold afternoon, is a Conrail transfer caboose.
This caboose as well as the 1st Generation EMD SW series yard swiitcher locomotive up front, look as though they may have came from the fallen flag pre 1968 railroad that was known as the New York Central.
This caboose hop is waiting for clearance to pass through the crosstracks at Brighton Junction.
