I took this photo one lovely Autum morning back in October of 2006.
This westbound Metra commuter local has just boarded a load of passengers at the Metra, Western Avenue commuter rail station. This commuter train is enroute to Elgin Illinois over the Canadian Pacific ex Milwaukee Road west line.
Western Avenue is the first commuter train station stop west of Chicago Union Station. There are two nearby Metra commuter coach yard and maintenance facilities to the west of here at nearby North California Avenue.
