I took this photo during a "Short" morning lunchbreak at the Metra commuter rail station in far north suburban Deerfield Illinois. Seen here is a southbound local enroute to Chicago Union Station from Fox Lake Illinois.
Although the train is being pushed from a locomotive on the rear of the train for the southbound trip, the train Engineers controls are in the upper deck at the end of this bi leval Gallery commuter coach on the right side of the car. The control signals to the locomotive, are transmitted to the locomotive by electrical cables and air hose connections.
