Westbound pre Pace Suburban Transit bus in the southbound turning lane at South Archer and Harlem Avenues. Chicago Illinois. April 1988.

I took this photo on a lovely Springtime afternoon back in April of 1988.

Before the local Chicago area suburban bus operator known as Pace was formed in 1984, the greater Chicagoland area once had several different suburban bus companys.

This 1970's era GMC fishbowl windshield TDH series transit bus from the former Suburban Transit Company, has just left the nearby terminal loop at South Archer and Neva Avenues in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood. Now in the southbound turning lane, the bus will head south on Harlem Avenue enroute to Orland Park Illinois.

Suburban Transit had a very unique and eye catching color scheme.
