A detail photo of the steel grates on the Maple Avenue bridge. Wilmette Illinois USA. February 2010.
I took this photo one day this week during My morning lunch break, in north suburban Wilmette Illinois.
This unique photo was taken looking down from the adjacent walkway on the south side of the Maple Avenue bridge. The Maple Avenue bridge in north suburban Wilmette Illinois, spans the very creek like north branch of the Chicago River. The bridge was constructed in the year of 1908. The grates that are shown here, are on the roadway portion of the bridge used by vechicles.
Looking through the grates, We can see the snow and ice covered waters of the north branch of the Chicago River below us during the wintertime.
