Southbound CTA Route # 54 Cicero Avenue bus at Belmont and Cicero Avenues. Chicago Illinois USA. December 2003.
I took this photo after work one evening back in December of 2003.
It is near the end of the year, and the daylight hours are temporarily becoming even less. Seen here at sunset, is a southbound Chicago Transit Authority 1990's era Nova transit bus heading southbound past the intersection of West Belmont and North Cicero Avenues in Chicago's Cragin neighborhood.
Prior to the end of service in March of 1973, bus route # 54 Cicero Avenue was a CTA electric trolleybus route. Several of the old line poles that once had supported the overhead twin trolleybus wires, can be seen today at various places along both Cicero and Belmont Avenues.
