Historic Photo Grand Trunk Western Railroad EMD model SW 1200 yard switcher at work. South Bend Indiana USA. 1957.
This unique 1950's era vintage color photo, comes to us from My links page Fallen Flags.Org to the right of Your computer screen.
One local Chicago area / Midwest regional railroad I have had a fascination with for many years, was the Canadian National Railroad's United States subsidiary railroad line known as the Grnd trunk Western.
This photo taken at South Bend Indiana way back in 1957, shows how many of the GTW's early First Generation diesel locomotives, wore the olive green and gold color scheme of the parent railroad company Canadian National for many years.
