Canadian National yard switching activity with fallen flag predecessor railroad locomotives. Hawthorne Yard. Chicago Illinois. April 2007.





I took this photo after work one afternoon, in early April of 2007.

We are at the Canadian National ex Illinois Central / Chicago & Illinois Western RR Crawford Yard east of Cicero Illinois, at the Chicago city limits.

Looking east, We see two EMD locomotives from the now fallen flag Grand Trunk Western and the Illinois Central, putting together a unit train of tank cars. There was plenty of switching activity here at the time of My visit.
