It was nice while it lasted anyway.
I took this photo during a Friday, October 31st, 2008 "Open House" public relations event that was being held at the Central Illinois Railroad headquarters at 918 West Cermak Road, in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood.
The Central Illinois Railroad, was an industrial shortline railroad, that was leasing track from the BNSF Railway. On the event, the Central Illinois Railroad unveiled their former Belt Railway of Chicago EMD SW 1200 yard switcher, wearing a Chicago, Burlington & Quincy like "Heritage" color scheme.
Due to slow business on line, the Central Illinois Railroad decided to leave Chicago in July of 2010, returning the industrial branchline back to BNSF Railway jurisdiction.
