Plowing and salting on Forest Preserve Drive. Chicago Illinois USA. Saturday, February 5th, 2011.

I took this photo this past Saturday, on My way to My public speaking appearance at the Jefferson Park Branch of the Chicago Public library.

With a little bit of sunshine and a trace of warmth in the air, this was indeed a fine opportunity for the Illinois Department of Transportation to dispatch several snowplow equipped dump trucks to help clear the snowbanks along Chicago's main roadways, and spread some much needed rock salt.

Seen here heading westbound on Forest Preserve Drive near Norridge Illinois, is an Illinois Department of Transportation International dump truck equipped with a large snowplow and spreading a load of rock salt.

The entire Chicagoland area is gradually digging out from the blizzard of February 1st, 2011.
