Northbound Iowa, Chicago & Eastern transfer train at Hawthorne Junction. Chicago / Cicero Illinois. January 2007.





I took this photo during a morning filled with very frigid sunshine, back in January of 2007.

With bright sun in the mid morning skies, a light dusting of snow on the ground, and a sharp winter wind blowing out of the west making it feel like it is actually zero degrees Farenheight outside.....a northbound Iowa, Chicago & Eastern transfer freight train, passes through Hawthorne Junction at the Cicero Illinois border.

This train is traveling northbound, over the Belt Railway of Chicago.
