On Friday morning, October 31st, 2008, the Central Illinois Railroad put together an open house event for local railfan photographers. We are looking south from inside the company's modest locomotive storage yard and headquarters office, at 918 West Cermak Road in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. The railroad crewmebers Kevin, Bob, and John....rolled out the red carpet and put together a fun open house that day. It was a great day with beautiful sunshine and an outside temperature of 69 Degrees Farenheight. Besides having the opportunity to visit and photographthe railroad's facilities and equipment up close, We even got to chase and photograph a working freight train on theior industrial switching line.
