I was on location at Hayford Junction one Saturday afternoon in January of 1987, after a heavy all morning lake effect snowstorm fell on Chicago.
Seen here is an eastbound Grand Trunk Western Railroad freight train departing from the nearby Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard. This train is slowly approaching the interchange curve connection at Hayford Junction, and will soon be heading southbound over GTW rails.
