The Sabre Room banquette hall sign on West 95th Street. Hickory Hills Illinois. December 1982.

Helo everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

Well folks, it's the end of the year time once again, and memories of the annual Live Holiday Dinner Shows at the Sabre Room in southwest suburban Hickory Hills come to mind for Myself.

During the early to mid 1980's, My family and I would enjoy a pleasant December afternoon live dinner variety stage show here over a good meal.

This photo of the landmark Sabre Room neon sign, was taken way back in December of 1982. We are facing west on West 95th Street, just east of Kean Avenue.

Todays "Glut" of strip malls and luxury condominiums along West 95th Street through here, were still a few years away yet as seen in this early 1980's photo.

One of My happiest memories of the seasonal holiday shows here at the Sabre Room, was that one year...they had a young man playing an upright piano, and performing several songs by the 1950's rock and roll music star Jerry Lee Lewis. Aside from the Jerry Lee Lewis tunes, He also performed songs from The Big Bopper and other music stars from the early rock and roll era.

He was actually very good too.

Thanks.
Eddie K.

A cousin of mine had his reception here. It was one of the hottest days of the summer and the air conditioning was out...I think it was the early 80s.
