Saint Clair of Montifalco annual summer carnival. Chicago Illinois. June 1988., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
People who discover Eddie's Railfan Page sometimes wonder just what makes this whole thing "Tick" the way it does.
The answer is very simple.
True, Eddie's Railfan Page is indeed a transportation blogsite aimed at train and bus enthusiasts...but a big part of My inspiration, are the many happy memories of growing up in the city of Chicago Illinois.
One of My happy summertime memories way back in the 1980's, was the opportunity to attend many local neighborhood summer church carnivals and festivals on the southwest side of Chicago. Saint Clair of Montifalco Catholic Parish located on West 54th Street and South Washtenaw Avenue in Chicago's Gage Park neighborhood, was one of My favorite places to visit in June of any year, to have some local night time fun at their annual summer carnival event.
Just remember folks...
"Eddie's Railfan Page, is fueled by happy memories". It's not just railroad stuff here.
Thanks.
Eddie K.
