An ariel view of the Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard looking west from West 69th Street and South Central Avenue. Bedford Park llinois USA. Circa 1920's.

This rare historic 1920's era ariel photo, was E Mailed to Me recently by Mr Robert Pitunjac, of the Clear Ridge Historical Society of Chicago.

This photo was proboubly taken from an airplane that had just either departed from , or was on arrival to the Chicago Municipal Airport.

Seen here just below, is the huge Belt Railway Of Chicago Clearing Yard facility, wich occupies land in both Chicago, and adjacent southwest suburban Bedford Park Illinois.

Today Clearing Yard, is one of Chicago's largest freight railroad terminals. Freight trains from several railroads originate, terminate or pass through here daily.

Thank You
Robert.
