Nothbound BNSF Railway light engine movement. Hawthorne Junction. Chicago / Cicero Illinois. February 2007.

I took this photo on location at Hawthorne Junction one evening, during that notorious Chicago deep freeze back in February of 2007.

With a sharp wind blowing out of the west , and an outside temperature reading of eight degrees above zero Farenheight...I braved the extreme cold and falling temperatures to capture this image of Chicago winter railroading.

A northbound BNSF Railway 2 locomotive light engine movement, is viewed traveling over the Belt Railway of Chicago, returning light to the nearby BNSF Railway Clyde Yard in west suburban Cicero Illinois at sunset.

I headed back to My car after this photo, as it was getting dangerously cold outside.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
