Chicago Transit Authority Canadian Flyer transit bus. July 1986., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
Hello everyone!
Welcome aboard the "Bus Day" edition of Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.
This will be the last bus day posting for 2011.
I took this photo, way back in July of 1986.
Seen here at the CTA Chicago city limits bus terminal loop on West 115th Street and South Springfield Avenue in Chicago's Mount Greenwood neighborhood adjacent to south suburban Alsip Illinois, is a 1983 CTA Flyer of Canada transit bus.
During the mid 1980's, the Chicago Transit Authority had assigned these buses to the CTA Route # 52A South Kedzie bus line.
Prior to the opening of the CTA orange line rapid transit and bus terminal at South Kedzie Avenue and West 49th Street in the fall of 1993, the Route # 52A South Kedzie line terminated at West 63rd Place and South Kedzie Avenue to the north, and West 115th Street and South Springfield Avenue to the south shown here.
In the background, was the "Last" farm inside the Chicago city limits. Today, this is now part of the Chicago School For Agricultural Sciences.
Happy memories!
Thanks.
Eddie K.
