I took this photo a few years ago, back in December of 2007.

A much talked about subject here in the greater Chicagoland area, was the former Kiddieland Amusement Park in northwest suburban Melrose Park Illinois.

Kiddieland was located at the northwest corner of First and North Avenues, and provided seasonal amusement park fun from 1928 until the park closed in September of 2009.

Some people weren't aware of it, but every year...Kiddieland would rent out space in the east parking lot alongside First Avenue to a traveling live Christmas tree salesman from late November until Christmas.

The park was closed for the Winter season in December, but You could still go to Kiddieland to purchase a live Christmas tree sold in the east parking lot.

Today, the old Kiddieland site, is now a large Costco wholesale warehouse club store.
