Many years ago, the greater Chicagoland area once had a good number of seasonal family owned and operated amusement parks.
Playland Park wich was located in unincorporated Justice Illinois, was one of these fabled family entertainment places.
The older lady operating the concession stand here, could have been an elderly relative of the family who owned playland park. She is proboubly supplimentig Her retirement income working here at the family owned business.
Playland Park closed for good at the end of the 1979 season, upon the sudden and untimely death of the park's owner.
The old Playland Park site today, is now the site of the Sterling Estates Mobile Home Park.
