I found this historic Chicago photograph on the internet, courtessy of The Chicago Tribune newspaper.

A popular and very talked about subject amongst people who grew up in the city of Chicago Illinois prior to 1967, was the locally famous Riverview Park on the northside of Chicago Illinois.

This 74 acre amusement park located along the north branch of the Chicago River, provided seasonal family amusement park fun and entertainment from 1904 until 1967.
The park had a short operating season every year, as it was only open from Memorial Day weekend in late May, and closed on Labor Day weekend in early September.

The tall tower in the background, was from the Parachute ride.
This ride, was a fast free falling experience for the bravest of thrill seekers.
