H.O Union Pacific Big Boy caboose hop.
I photographed this digital live sound video recently, at The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.
An Athearn H.O scale model of a Union Pacific 4000 class 4-8-8-4 Big Boy class articulated steam locomotive, (The worlds largest.) is viewed pulling a lone caboose from the Western Pacific Railroad on the club layout.
The Union Pacific 4000 series Big Boys, were built by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) begining in 1941, and were used primarilly for hauling wartime traffic at first during World War 2. 25 of these were built, and 8 have been preserved today.
The Union Pacific operated these in heavy freight train service over Sherman Hill in the state of Wyoming until 1959.
