The Canadian National is a very large transcontinental railroad both here in the United States, and north of the border in Canada. The Canadian National was well loved by many railfans over the years, as they operated steam locomotives in regular service to the very end of the 1950's in Canada. They actually preserved a pretty good number of them for display as well.

This photo was taken by railfan photographer Jim Parker at Stratford Ontario, during the 1950's. The CN had steam locomotives both large and small. These 4 -6 -0 ten wheeler types like the one shown here, served the CN well until the end of the steam era.
